The reflected-region wallpaper is the most widely used model. Its basic idea is to have a uniform, circular, non-singular distribution of particles in the reflected region of an atomic cloud. In other words, a ring is a perfect example of a symmetric ring. However, this model is not perfect. Moreover, it is dependent on the exact shape of the acceptance function. In such a case, it is best to use an alternative background model.
To create a ring background in Photoshop, first select the diamond image you want to use. Next, select a vector mask, and make sure its fill and stroke colors are solid white. Click outside the ring and hold down the Shift key. Then click outside the circling ring and draw a solid white outline around the sphere. The result should look like Figure 3. This layer also contains the diamond image.
